Abstract

Type 2 diabetes is associated with an increased risk of recurrent coronary events compared to individuals without diabetes. However, whether prediabetes confers a similar risk to established diabetes for developing subsequent cardiac events is less clear. This study aims to investigate the long-term risk associated with prediabetes and developing subsequent cardiac events in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
