(Abstracted from J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2017;102:3822–3829) Intrinsic insulin resistance is common in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and it is recommended that they undergo an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) to screen for diabetes. However, there is no consensus on whether impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) affects pregnancy outcomes.
