Abstract

1. The power systems of Siberia and the European part of the country are characterized by different relative importance of the hydroelectric stations and density of the load curves. Thanks to this, on joining the systems it is possible to shift a part of the regulated power of the Siberian hydroelectric stations from the base-load (24-h) zone to the semibase (16-h) zone with a corresponding increase in the utilized capacity of the hydroelectric stations. Under these conditions the startup of the second lines at the Ust’-Ilimsk, Sayan-Shush’sk, and a number of other hydroelectric stations is economically warranted. 2. An increase in the installed capacity of the hydroelectric stations and their accelerated utilization under optimal conditions of power transmission from IPSS to UPSE will lead to an economy of the installed power at the thermal power stations of the IPSS and, accordingly, to a higher effectiveness of the construction of hydroelectric stations and economy of expenditures for the development of power engineering in integrated power systems.
