Abstract

Soybean cultivated with enhanced potassium, comprising application of potassium (K2O @ 20 kg ha−1) through muriate of potash had significantly less populations of whiteflies, jassids, weevils, leaf folder, semiloopers, tobacco caterpillar and other lepidopteran pests. Without enhanced potassium fertilisation the crop harboured significantly more pests. Farmscaping soybean with marigold significantly reduced the population of whiteflies, weevils, leaf folder, semiloopers and tobacco caterpillar. However, jassids did not show any significant variation.
