Abstract

Objective To examine the effect of postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation therapy on pelvic floor muscle and Vaginal tighten.Methods A total of 69 maternal with head position term delivery were recruited and divided into two groups randomly.The treatment group received the therapy of electrical muscle stimulator (model PHENIX),while the control group received Kegel pelvic muscle exercise.Their pelvic muscle strength was evaluated after a course of therapy.Results After the intervention,pelvic muscle strength of all maternal were improved.The number of cases had marked effect or improved of partial response on pelvic floor muscle strength in treatment group respectively were 18 cases and 15 cases,and those in control group respectively were 14 cases and 8 cases,and the difference was statistically significant(u =3.59,P < 0.05).The number of the pelvic muscle strength and vaginal tightening improved in treatment group was higher than that in control group (32 vs 20),and the difference was statistically significant (u =2.16 ; P < 0.05).Conclusions The electrical muscle stimulate therapy is useful and safe for delivery woman.It can improve the pelvic muscle strength and tighten vaginal muscle.
