Abstract

The field experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four replications to assess the effect of soil solarization and raised bed planting on incidence of chickpea wilt and grain yield. Result revealed that maximum wilt incidence (20.1%) was observed in early sown plots i.e on November 8 while minimum wilt 5.7% incidence was in late sown plots i.e November 28. There was gradual reduction in disease incidence as the date of sowing was delayed but it increased slightly after December 6. In both the season, Raised bed planting showed maximum disease incidence 20.8% and minimum grain yield 646.7kg/h in comparison to flat beds. Soil solarization with black polyethylene, gave minimum disease incidence (14.5%)
