Abstract
The piezoelectric and dielectric properties of Sr and Nb doped lead zirconate titante (PZT) used for electroacoustic transducers have been investigated as a function of the poling field and poling time. The optimum poling conditions were determined from the measurement of maxima of the radial planar coupling factor (kp) and the relative dielectric constant (εr) at various poling parameters. The data showed that the mentioned quantities reach the maximum values and then saturate at an external electric field up to the saturation field in a suitable time. Large external fields associated with the extension of poling time above the optimal values produced the degradation of investigated electromechanical coefficient and the dielectric constant.
