Abstract

Special features of structure and properties of cast iron with globular graphite subjected to plastic deformation in quasi-static and high-speed upset forging are considered. The strain curve and the dependence “deforming force – degree of elongation (drawing)” are obtained for cast iron with the pearlite-ferrite matrix. The effect of plastic deformation on the morphology of graphite particles, impact toughness, and failure of test specimens is determined at deformation under the conditions of free upset forging and forging in a holder.
