Abstract

The effect of plastic deformation on the V and F colouring curves of NaCl samples has been studied. Samples with different background of impurities were deformed, X-rayed and their optical density measured at liquid nitrogen temperature. It is found that for the more impure samples, plastic deformation prior to colouring decreases the V and F colourability.
