Abstract

In agar culture mycoparasitism by either Piptocephalis fimbriata or P. freseniana reduced growth and sporulation of the coprophile Pilaira anomala over a temperature range of 15–30°C. It is, however, argued that in nature the presence of mycoparasites on herbivore faeces probably has little effect on development of coprophilous Zygomycotina.
