Abstract

The photothermal beam deflection(PTBD) signals were measured as a function of polarization angle of the probe beam. The PTBD signal within the transparent solids strongly depends on the polarization angle of the probe beam and orientation of the samples. The photoelastic effect in the solid was successfully introduced to analyze the experimental results.
