Abstract

The self-phase modulation, cross-phase modulation and amplified spontaneous emission noise combined effect on pulsed signals to be transmitted of multichannel wavelength division multiplexing optical fiber transmission system is investigated. The investigation is carried out under the conditions of transmitting system parameters variation: the total optical power level in optical fiber and the linear code type. The investigation results are obtained by using analytical model of pulsing signals transmission through standard single-mode fiber in dense wavelength division multiplexing optical fiber transmission system using coherent detection. The analytical model is implemented in the environment MathCAD modeling. The estimate criterion of pulsed signals noise immunity is Q-factor to be calculated by photodetected pulsed signals eye diagram analyze. The dependence of total Q-factor value on total optical power level in optical fiber for “return to zero” and “nonreturn to zero” linear codes is demonstrated.
