Abstract

The present study deals with the effect of pH value on structural and magnetic properties of copper ferrite (CF) nanoparticles synthesized via low temperature hydrothermal approach. In particular, the pH is varied from 9 to 12, in order to elucidate the behavior of structural, morphological, magnetic and optical properties of CF nanoparticles. The diffraction pattern revealed the formation of mixed (cubic & tetragonal) phase and cubic single phase structure. Later on, the structure, average crystallite size (D), grain size (G), particle size, saturation magnetization (Ms), anisotropy constant (K1), magnetic moment (miB), octahedral (ν1) & tetrahedral (ν2) locations are also evaluated. Moreover, the cation distribution was performed for all the samples. The superparamagnetic nature of CF nanoparticles is confirmed by M-H curves.
