Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect of pelvic floor muscle therapy combined with levator ani muscle contraction therapy on maternal vaginal wall relaxation. Methods Sixty patients from January 2010 to November 2016 were randomly divided into treatment group (group A) and control group (group B), 30 cases in each group. Group A underwent pelvic floor muscle treatment combined with levator ani muscle exercise treatment program, while group B underwent simple pelvic floor muscle therapy. The clinical effects of the patients were evaluated. Results The total effective rate of group A was 93.33%, that of group B was 83.33%. The cure rate of group A was significantly higher than that of group B, with statistically significant difference between the two groups (χ2=12.586 2,P=0.001 8). Conclusion Pelvic floor muscle therapy combined with levator ani muscle contraction exercise is an effective, safe, simple, noninvasive, painless method for the treatment of postpartum vaginal wall relaxation. It is worthy to be continuously clinically used. Key words: Urinary incontinence; Pelvic floor muscle treatment; Levator ani muscle contraction movement
