Abstract

Sintered YBa2Cu3Ox samples with different oxygen-deficiency were prepared and the chemical composition and impurities of the samples were determined precisely. The effects of the oxygen deficiency on Tc, Jc or lattice constants were examined. The critical temperature decreases continuously with increasing oxygen deficiency. No flat region on the Tc vs. oxygen content curve was observed. The critical current density increases with decreasing oxygen oxygen deficiency. The relationship between lattice constants and oxygen deficiency of YBCO was elucidated.
