Abstract
The effect of aspect ratio and orientation of a non-airconditioned building on its thermal performance has been analysed in terms of discomfort index for hot-dry and composite climates. It is shown that the discomfort index for east-west orientation is smaller than that for north-south orientation but the difference even for the largest aspect ratio considered is not more than 10%.
