Abstract

Tests were carried out to determine the effect of extreme pressure/anti-wear and viscosity index improver lubricating oil additives on the frictional characteristics of a sintered copper alloy friction material as used for a wet clutch application. The results show that the additives, especially the extreme pressure/anti-wear additive, had beneficial effects on the frictional characteristics and the wear of the friction material.
