Abstract

The effect of O2− in molten FLiNaK on the corrosion behavior of Hastelloy N alloy was studied by adding different concentrations of Li2O and using static corrosion immersion method at 923 K. The results showed that the corrosion behavior of Hastelloy N alloy was closely related to the concentration of O2− in molten FLiNaK. The effect of O2− addition less than 60 ppm on the corrosion morphologies and Cr depleted layer depths was negligible. While high concentration of O2− addition would accelerate the formation of insoluble LiCrO2, selective leaching of Mo and the formation of soluble oxyfluoride complexes of Mo.
