Abstract

Objective To study the effect of critical thinking on preventing emergency infusion drug event. Methods Critical thinking training was implemented since January 2015 in the emergency department of our hospital. CTDI-CV was used to evaluate the training effect, compare CTDI-CV, infusion drug event and nursing satisfaction before and after implementing critical thinking training. Results After implementing critical thinking training, the total score of CTDI-CV of nurse was (311.4±29.2), which was significantly higher than that before training(P<0.05). Only 2 patients had adverse reaction after infusion, 1 patient had phlebitis and 1 patient had local skin itch. The degrees of satisfaction of doctor and patient to nursing service were 91.6% and 95.0%, which were significantly higher than that before training(P<0.05). Conclusion Critical thinking mode established is beneficial to reduce emergency infusion drug event and improve the nursing satisfaction, which is worth popularizing clinically.
