Effect of nursing quality control group model on the management of neonatal intensive care units

Abstract

Objective To explore the methods and effects of care quality control group on the quality management in neonatal intensive care units (NICU).Methods Set up quality control group of care,ensured the responsibility of the work,made monitor and instruction for the department of arrangement of the NICU,developed the evaluation and decision of the care qualityregularly,amended the objective and solved the problem of the nursing quality.Before and after setting up the care quality control group,qualified rate of nursing quality,and babies and parents' satisfaction were observed.Results After setting up the group of quality management,disinfection and isolation qualified rate (96.7％ vs 91.7％),writing qualified rate (97％ vs 92％),basic nursing qualified rate was (98％ vs 93％),nursing safety yield rate (97％ vs 91％) were significantly higher than that before setting up the quality control group(x2 =6.827,5.749,9.391,10.953 ; P ＜0.05).And the satisfaction of the babies and parents was raised from 88.33％ to 99.17％ (x2 =24.036,P ＜0.01).Conclusions Setting up the care quality group can improve the activity of nurses and taking part in the management of care quality,promote the implementation of care quality so as to raise the parents' satisfaction.
