Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention on the treatment compliance and functional recovery of patients with deep hand burn. Methods Totals of 90 cases of patients with deep hand burn were randomly divided into the intervention group (n =45) and the control group (n =45).The control group received routine care, while the intervention group was given systematic nursing intervention. Two groups' treatment compliance and postoperative functional recovery was compared. Results Treatment compliance was 97.78% in the intervention group and 80.8% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =4.316,P < 0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the recovery of appearance and feeling in two groups (P > 0.05).According to DASH,the recovery of feeling and appearance was (45 ± 3) six months after discharge, and the functional recovery was (25 ± 5) on discharge in the intervention group, while the recovery of feeling and appearance was (33 ± 4) six months after discharge, and the functional recovery was (43 ± 5) on discharge in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t =1.249,10.599,respectively; P < 0.05).Conclusions Nursing interventions can effectively improve the treatment compliance and promote functional recovery of patients with deep hand burn. Key words: Hand burn; Nursing intervention ; Postoperative functional recovery; Treatment adherence
