Abstract

To evaluate the impact of Clark' s wellness-nursing model in improving self-efficacy of patient with chronic kidney disease.Methods Totals of 51 patients with chronic kidney disease were selected randomly by room number as the intervention group (26 cases) and the control group (25 cases).Patients in the intervention group were cared under Clark' s wellness-nursing procedure,and meanwhile patients in the control group were cared under traditional nursing procedure.At the beginning of admission and after intervention,the staff under the guidance of the intervention group and control group patients fill in general self-efficacy scale (GSES).Compared between the two groups patients self-efficacy score results.Results At the beginning of admission,the score of GSES of intervention group and controlled group respectively were (2.73 ±0.67) and (2.52 ± 0.57),and the difference was not significant (t =1.249,P > 0.05).After intervention,the score of GSES of intervention group and controlled group were (2.90 ± 0.57) and (2.52 ± 0.55),the difference was significant (t =2.395,P < 0.05).Conclusions Nursing care based on Clark' s wellness-nursing model could improve self-efficacy of patients with chronic kidney disease.
