Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of comprehensive care intervention on quality of life in acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients with highly active antiretroviral treatment (HAART).Methods 120 AIDS patients with HAART were divided into two groups by random number table method:the control group (60 cases) and the observation group (60 cases). The control group received conventional care, and the observation group received comprehensive nursing care.Serious adverse reactions such as lactic acidosis and improvement of quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of adverse reaction of the observation group ( 16.6% ) was lower than that of the control group ( 33.3% ),and the difference was statistically significant ( x2 =11.368,P < 0.05 ).Score of quality in life of the observation group (138.25 ± 14.13) was higher than that of the control group (67.38 ± 10.69),and the difference was statistically significant ( Z =- 6.736,P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Comprehensive nursing intervention can effectively reduce lactic acidosis and other serious adverse reactions, and is conducive to the smooth progress of anti-viral therapy and improvement of quality of life in AIDS patients.
