Abstract

Near band-edge light-induced absorption of picosecond pulses in crystalline silicon is studied. It is shown that along with free-carriers absorption, one should take into account also the interband absorption nonlinearity due to the band filling and the screening. The developed theoretical model fits well the experimental results.
