Abstract

In the study there was conducted characteristics of macro-and microstructure of casted Ti-47Al-2W-0.5Si alloy, based on intermetallic TiAl phase. There were presented possibilities for change of unfavorable parameters of this structure – large grain and high content of columnar grains – through the use of modifier in the form of a crystalline neodymium. There was shown the effect of modification process on selected properties of the alloy. There were determined: the content of modifier, by which changes in structure are largest, and the form, in which the modifier is present in the modified alloy.
