Abstract

We report a systematic investigation of the mechanical, structural, and magnetic properties of Nb-doped NiMnSn Heusler alloys. Specifically, NiMnSnNb alloys with 1% at Nb doping replacing distinct elements in NiMnSn alloys are explored. Our results indicate that the modification of the structural, mechanical and magnetic properties of the Ni50Mn37Sn13 alloy, with Nb doping, presents sensitivity to the element in which its atomic composition will be reduced by the incorporation of Nb in the alloy. Our findings show an interesting route to tune specific properties according to the technological application.
