Abstract
This paper emphasizes the serious error induced in radiative heat transfer calculation by neglecting the narrow-band nonuniformity in absorption coefficient. Based on such recognition, a simple, comprehensive and reasonable calculation method is proposed. This calculation method aims at simulating the radiative heat transfer in nonisothermal participating gases considering narrow-band nonuniformity effect through comprehensive approach. Though the concept of narrow band model is adopted in such approach to incorporating the narrow-band nonuniformity effect, the use of the narrow band emissivity given by the algebraic formula based on narrow band model is avoided. Validity of the proposed calculation method in nonisothermal fields is confirmed. Also the extension of this method is proposed in relation to the mixture of multiple radiative species that have overlapping vibration-rotation bands.
