Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Naomaitai capsules combined with oxiracetam injection on cognitive function and ability of daily life in patients with vascular dementia (VD) . Methods 82 patients with VD treated at our hospital from June, 2015 to June, 2017 were divided into an observation group (n=41) and a control group (n=41) according to different treatment plans. The control group were injected oxiracetam and the observation group were treated with oxiracetam injection and Naomaitai capsules, for 3 months. The curative effect, the scores of simple Intelligence Scale (MMSE) and activity of daily living (ADL), and the levels of TNF-, IL-6, and CRP were measured before and 3 months after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.12% (39/41), which was higher than that of the control group [73.17% (30/41)] (χ2=7.405, P=0.007) . 3 months after the treatment, the scores of MMSE and ADL were higher and the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and CRP the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05) . Conclusion Naomaitai capsules combined with oxiracetam injection in the treatment of VD is significantly effective and can significantly improve the intelligence and ability of daily life and decrease the levels of inflammatory factors.
