Abstract

The effect of Na promoter on the catalytic performance of Pd-Cu/hydroxyapatite (Pd-Cu/HAP) for room-temperature CO oxidation has been investigated. The HAP supports were prepared via the precipitation method. The Na promoter was used to modify the HAP support, and the corresponding Pd-Cu/HAP catalysts were synthesized by an impregnation approach. Compared with non-Na promoted Pd-Cu/HAP catalyst, the catalytic activities of Na promoted Pd-Cu/HAP catalysts were enhanced gradually with the increase of sodium content. The excellent catalytic performance of Na promoted Pd-Cu/HAP catalyst could be attributed to the presence of more active Cu(OH)Cl species and less weak basic sites, especially, higher active surface Pd+ species and more surface Cu+ species.
