Abstract
We investigate the nature of the singularity in the non-spherical gravitational collapse of the strange quark null fluid. The interesting feature that emerges is that the non-spherical gravitational collapse of charged strange quark matter leads to a naked singularity whereas the gravitational collapse of neutral monopole quark matter gives the singularity is covered in an event horizon, i.e. it produces a black hole. In the present paper we have shown that the monopole spacetime does not play any fundamental roll in the formation of naked
