Abstract

Complexation of a cationic polyelectrolyte, poly-N-benzyl-N,N-dimethyl-N-methacryloyloxyethylammonium chloride, with an ananionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate, in aqueous solutions is studied. The effect of the molecular weight of the polymer on phase separation in the system and on the stability, conformation, and surface activity of the polyelectrolyte-surfactant complexes is examined.
