Abstract

The influence of Mo, V and W on the growth and nitrogenase synthesis by purple bacteria Rhodobacter capsulatus, R. sphaeroides and cyanobacteria Anabaena variabilis and A. azollae have been studied. Obtained data indicate that these microorganisms excluding R. sphaeroides are capable of synthesizing alternative nitrogenase(s).
