Abstract

To achieve the purpose of the study twenty women intercollegiate Kabaddi player were selected from St.John's college of physical Education, Veeravanallur. They were considered as experimental (meditation) group. The selected variables are Attention and Concentration. The experimental group (meditation) underwent training for 5 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) at early morning from 6 am to 7 am for six weeks. The subjects in the experimental groups were well trained with their allotted meditation techniques such as Tratakas, Dhwani Yoga, Ajapa-Jap, attention on chakras and a remarkable practice. The data were collected on these selected psychological variables of attention, (attention board) and concentration (mirror drawing apparatus) before training as well as immediately after six weeks of training. The significance of the difference among the means of experimental group was fount out by pre-test and (post test. The data were analyses Dependent't' test was used at 0.05 level with the df 19 and the table value was 2.093. The 't'ratio for concentration (error) was 8.382 which was significant and the 't' ratio for concentration (time) was 3.349 which was significant at 0.05 level. The results indicated that there was a significant improvement in attention and concentration among women players.
