Abstract

A simplified transmission system model is derived in the form of complex notation. By the application of this model together with the nonlinear models of salient and nonsalient synchronous machines the effect of magnetic saturation of machines on the behaviour of power transmission systems is investigated. Examples of numerical simulation show that for accurate analyses this effect should be considered.
