Abstract

A total of 640 White Leghorn pullets were given from 1 day to 6 weeks, 7 to 15 weeks and 16 to 18 weeks old: free access to diets with digestible lysine (DL) contents 0.85, 0.67 and 0.57 or 0.67% (step-down); free access to diets with DL contents 0.65, 0.67 and 0.77 or 0.67% (step-up), or; free access with 0.85% DL, access restricted to 85% of free intake with 0.79% DL and free intake with 0.77 or 0.67% DL, respectively.
