Abstract

The inertia effects in squeeze film between two curved surfaces and externally pressurized bearing with a converging lubricant film are considered. It is shown that lubricant inertia for squeeze film bearing increases the load supporting capacity and decreases the squeeze. For externally pressurized bearing it is found that there is a negative contribution to the load supporting capacity by inertia forces.
