Abstract
The inertia effect in a pivoted slider bearing with a convex pad surface is considered. It is found that the load-supporting capacity of the pivoted slider bearing and the frictional force on the bearing are increased if the inertia effect is taken into account. It is also shown that the centre of pressure is slightly shifted towards the leading edge by the inertia effect.
