Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2017-18 at the AICRP-Long Term Fertilizer Experiments research farm of JNKVV, Jabalpur to study the effect of long-term fertilizer application on yield and yield attributes of wheat crop grown on a vertisol. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) with ten treatments replicated four times. Treatment consisted of ten different levels of T1-50% NPK, T2-100% NPK, T3-150% NPK, T4-100% NPK + HW, T5-100% NPK + Zn, T6-100% NP, T7 100% N, T8-100% NPK+ FYM, T9-100% NPK-S and T10-Control. The response of wheat in terms of yield and yield attributes as well as properties of soil at harvest of crop were studied. The results revealed that the combined application organic and inorganic fertilizer application 100%NPK + FYM significantly influenced the grain yield and straw yield as well as biological yield and harvest index and the lowest value observed in control. The highest protein and carbohydrate content was observed with treatment 100% NPK+FYM. Therefore, balanced use of organic and inorganic fertilizers is provided higher productivity and crop quality of wheat.
