Abstract

The analysis of the influence of slot combination on the flux and force pulsations of induction-motor teeth on load is achieved using conformal transformation. For a given stator slot number, the total airgap field is evaluated for a range of rotor slot numbers and the instantaneous flux entering any tooth is determined. Using a surface integral method, the radial components of force on stator and rotor teeth for any rotor position are also evaluated. Conclusions are drawn about the choice of slot combination.
