Abstract

For the first time, Mimosa pudica (M pudica) plant extract was used as a mediator to synthesize Li+ (0.1–0.5 mol %) codoped tetragonal BiOCl:Tb3+0.5 mol % nanophosphors by the conventional phytosynthesis route. Surface morphological studies confirmed the micro flower like morphology with different petals arrangement. The conduction band and valence band edges were used to realize the effect of codopant on the electronic structure of BiOCl:Tb3+0.5 host. The value of valence band increases from 3.60 to 3.69 eV. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra exhibit characteristic luminescence 5D4→7FJ (J = 0–6) of Tb3+ ions. BiOCl:Tb3+0.5:Li+ (0.1–0.5 mol %) was good luminescent media for the fabrication of artificial green light in white LEDs and solid state display. Judd-Ofelt theory was used to analyze various radiative properties. Finger Prints dusted by BiOCl:Tb3+0.5:Li+ (0.3 mol %) NPs exhibit clear and bright images under UV 254 nm light helpful for identification for individuals.
