Abstract

The effect of pulsed laser treatment on the structural state and internal stresses of the Fe–Ni alloy has been studied. The influence of the size of austenitic grains, redistribution of chemical elements and internal stresses in the austenitic phase on the characteristics of martensitic transformation in the subsurface layer of the alloy was analyzed. A correlation between the grain size effect of martensitic transformation and the amount of martensitic phase in this layer was established.
