Abstract

Abstract Microwave dielectric properties of La3+-doped (Pb1− x Ca x )(Fe0.5Nb0.5)O3 (x = 0.5–0.6) ceramics were investigated, and a superstructure was detected in these ceramics. The dielectric constant (∊r) and the temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency (TCF) decreased, while the Qf value of the specimens increased with the increase in Ca2+ content. At the same Ca2+ content, the ∊r and Qf values of La3+-doped specimens were much higher than those of undoped ones. This is attributed to the elimination of oxygen vacancies by the solid solution of surplus La3+ with (Pb, Ca)2+. Excellent microwave dielectric properties of Qf = 6795 GHz, ∊r = 96.41 with TCF = −4.99 ppm · K−1 were obtained at x = 0.55.
