Abstract

Thermal analysis of non-irradiated and irradiated to doses of 100, 250 and 500 kGy solutions of acetohydroxamic acid in 3 or 7 mol/L HNO3 has been carried out. The temperatures of transition of oxidative processes to the autocatalytic mode ranged from 315 to 333 K. The onset temperature of the exothermic reaction, its duration and rate have been determined. The parameters characterizing the intensity of the exothermic reaction (specific heat release, self-heating value, pressure increase) decrease with increasing radiation dose, especially for solutions of acetohydroxamic acid in 7 mol/L HNO3.
