Abstract

1. An investigation was made to study the effect of iron, which is deposited with the starting reagents and in the stages of its production, on the activity and selectivity of the catalyst during the cracking of vacuum gasoil from Arlan petroleum. 2. It was found that treatment of catalysts, which contain up to 0.25% iron deposited with the starting reagents, with hydrogen sulfide results in a decrease in its selectivity: the coke yield increases by 35–40%, the hydrogen concentration in the gas increases by 2–3 times. 3. It was shown that an increase in the iron concentration in the catalyst from 0.07% to 0.105%, deposited during the stages of its production, decreases the yield of benzine by 10%, increases the coke yield by 15%, and the hydrogen concentration of the gas is tripled.
