Abstract

A study is made of how collisions of ions with gas atoms affect the parameters of an ion flow and the interaction between dust grains, as well as their interaction with the flow. The ion velocity distribution in a gas discharge is analyzed with allowance for both resonant charge exchange of the ions with parent gas atoms and polarizing collisions. The interaction forces between a dust grain and an ion flow and among the grains due to the charge exchange of ions with gas atoms near the grain are examined.
