Abstract
-90 Ss were given 1 6 trials (15 sec. apart) at drawing a 3-in. line while blindfolded. Three groups (ns = 30) were defined by the duration of a rest of 1 0 sec. (Gp. O) , 2 min. (Gp. 2 ) , or 5 min. (Gp. 5 ) interpolated between 6 trials, each followed by knowledge of results ( K R ) and 1 0 trials without KR. The magnitude of the immediate post-rest response was inversely related to the duration of the longer rest. Rate of response decay post-rest was directly related to duration of the interpolated resr. A proprioceptive dampening effect associated with the build-up of response inhibition was hypothesized.
