Abstract

A theoretical analysis of the wave field scattered from small particles of arbitrary shape embedded in two-layered dielectric media is presented. The analysis is based on the local perturbation method that accounts for the resonant scattering. Effects of the interface between two dielectrics on the resonance frequencies, amplitudes and widths of the resonances are investigated. The mean field scattered by a disordered island film is studied.
