Abstract

SummaryInsulin in vitro failed to stimulate the uptake of 14C-acetate or 35S-sulfate into aortic mucopolysaccharides of normal animals. Aortas from diabetic animals showed normal 14C-acetate uptake which was decreased by the addition of insulin, and a normal 35S-sulfate uptake, which was significantly increased by insulin added in vitro.
