Abstract
Experiments to show the effect of implanted adult corpora allata on that of the host have given negative results in Drosophila melanogaster, while the presumed compensatory effect has been verified in Drosophila virilis. Reasons are presented which suggest that the nature of the latter effect should be further analyzed.
