Abstract

Endometriosis is an inflammatory process regulated by cytokines, such as IL-6 and TNF alpha, that are known to be present in higher concentrations in the peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis. (1) The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of IL-6 and TNF alpha on the invasion of immortalized epithelial endometrial cells (iEECs) and human stromal endometrial cells (hESCs) from patients with endometriosis in modeled peritoneum in vitro.
